About Us
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide those in need with emergency food by working together with community members, leaders, local businesses and organizations to gather, store, and distribute goods;
to offer compassionate help as we respect the dignity of each person we serve, and to inform and educate our community about the issue of hunger in Geary County, Kansas.
Our History
In 1988, a group of local volunteers and concerned citizens, led by Rebecca Thorp, held their first organizational meeting.
First Presbyterian minister, Ted Lester, was one of the organizers. In June of 1989, the Food Pantry opened its doors to help support the needs of the hungry men, women and children in the community.

Our Future
Our current facility has limitations and we have been researching a larger facility. We want to make sure that the facility becomes part of the ATA bus route and that all of our customers can get to the facility via various modes of transportation (walking, bus, vehicle, etc.). We want the experience to be like that of going to the grocery store.
